3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Associate position is to conduct independent laboratory research under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The research interest of the Montagna lab is to conduct cancer research affecting a variety of tissues to analyze experiments relative to the understanding of molecular mechanisms of tumor initiation and progression. The Montagna Lab at Rutgers Cancer Institute leverages multiple experimental approaches. Including single-cell genomics by next-generation sequencing, in situ single-cell analyses of DNA and RNA by Fluorescent in situ Hybridization (FISH), and CRISPR gene editing to induce genomic instability and study its consequences on tumor transformation and therapy response. The candidate will have the opportunity to join a highly translational laboratory that seeks to identify underlying mechanisms of tumorigenesis and translate these findings into improved personalized therapeutic strategies for treating breast and cervical cancer.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Under the direction of Dr. Qi Yang, the Postdoctoral Associate(s) will be responsible for the performance and analysis of experiments focused on development and function of novel immune cells. Our research focuses on development and function of novel innate immune cells in vital tissues such as the lung and the brain. We explore components of innate immunity in tissues, and how the interaction between immune and non-immune cells influences the disease outcome of airway and brain disorders (JACI. 2020. 145 (5): 1469, J Exp Med. 2020. 217 (4)). The candidate should have strong interests in exploring novel immune cells and the mechanisms of human health and disease. In addition, the postdoc(s) will participate in lab meetings, research in progress seminars, and presentations at conferences.
