1. Fully Funded PhD Position in fundamental turbulence research (ERC Consolidator Project UniTED)
Summary of PhD Program:
Turbulence is ubiquitous in nature and technology. Yet, developing theories of turbulence, which ultimately all modeling applications rely on, remains an outstanding scientific challenge. The goal of the EU-funded project UniTED is to combine theory and new computational approaches to tackle this long-standing problem and enhance our fundamental understanding of highly turbulent flows.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
2. Fully Funded PhD Position in micrometerology on land surface-air interaction process
Summary of PhD Program:
The micrometeorology group focuses on atmospheric transport processes near the surface and the exchange of momentum, heat, water vapor and trace gases in natural and managed environments including cities. We investigate processes across a large range of scales from small-scale and short-lived turbulence to decadal ecosystem budgets of evapotranspiration and carbon exchange.

3. Fully Funded PhD Position in Coordination Cages as Photoactive Materials
Summary of PhD Program:
The position is temporary limited (initially for 3 years) and will be paid according to German public-sector level TV-L E 13 (50%). The aim of the project is the synthesis of heteroleptic coordination cages with photoactive ligands in the cage scaffold. You have an above-average university degree (MSc or equivalent) in Chemistry or strongly related fields and already experience in coordination and/or supramolecular chemistry. Preferably, you have furthermore experimental experience in the synthesis of organic ligands and/or photophysical or photochemical characterisation of materials.
Application Deadline: 05/02/2025
4. Fully Funded PhD Position in Social Anthropology
Summary of PhD Program:
Both research projects are concerned with the research-based accompaniment of young people in the north of the Republic of Benin. One research project is concerned with the apprenticeship of young people in villages who are learning the crafts of weaving, pottery, and/or blacksmithing. The second research project, in the same region, is concerned with the pathways to adulthood of urban youth who are learning various technical professions and trades.
