Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Liu Lab at Washington University School of Medicine is recruiting motivated, productive, independent, and collegial postdocs interested in using bioinformatics to interrogate gut immunity. The immediate projects may involve spatial transcriptomic analysis of clinical samples from people with inflammatory bowel diseases, mechanistic understanding of epigenetic and transcriptional regulation of gut epithelial cell differentiation, or mechanistic understanding of how diet modulate both innate and adaptive immune cells. This postdoctoral researcher will combine wet-lab molecular biology methods, dry-lab bioinformatic analysis, and a translational approach using samples from mice and humans. The overall goal is to understand mechanisms of gut mucosal immunity homeostasis. The start date is negotiable.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Alexander-Brett lab in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow. We are a basic-translational research lab studying mechanism in airway diseases including COPD, asthma, cystic fibrosis and chronic lung transplant rejection. Our lab is interested in novel forms of respiratory mucosal signaling via airway epithelial derived cytokines and extracellular vesicles (EV). We conduct multidisciplinary research that includes mouse models of airway disease, epithelial and immune cell biology, biochemistry/protein engineering and multi-omics analyses of human airway disease.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Many common diseases, such as kidney, heart or lung disease cause most of their morbidity and mortality by inducing secondary organ complications. As example, acute kidney injury (kidney failure) causes remote lung inflammation with hypoxemia, and also acute and chronic neurocognitive dysfunction and cognitive decline long after acute kidney injury is resolved. The mechanisms involved in this interorgan crosstalk are largely unknown and therapies are lacking. We hypothesize that secondary organ complications are driven by soluble factors and nervous connections that carry signals from a diseased organ to another which induce adaptive and/or maladaptive responses in the secondary organ.

10. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are looking for a computational biologist, structural biologist, biochemist or chemist, biological engineer or Ph.D.s in related fields with the interest in designing protein structures to tackle challenging problems. Experience with Python would be useful! We are a protein design and engineering lab combining state-of-the-art technologies in computational protein design with directed evolution methodologies. This is a unique moment in time as protein design using AI is rapidly becoming very successful in generating a custom new protein world. We are developing antivirals, vaccines and gene delivery devices; projects can be potentially in either space depending on previous training.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Rosen lab studies Klebsiella pneumoniae pathogenesis, virulence and immune response. This increasingly resistant pathogen frequently causes pneumonia, sepsis and urinary tract infection in hospitalized patients. We are interested in the host immune response to Klebsiella pneumoniae. Specifically, we are identifying important antigenic proteins presented by the bacterium and the milieu of host cells (T cell subsets, etc.) responsible for responding to this organism, both in acute and adaptive models of infection. Additionally, we are dissecting mechanisms of infection, including regulatory control of numerous virulence factors in different host niches.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Our lab is focused on improving the lives of patients with gynecologic cancers and other cancer types through basic and translational research. Our work involves basic protein and cell biology up to in vivo models and human specimens and trials. We have a particular expertise in radiation biology and gynecologic cancer models. This position is to serve as the scientific lead of a project with recent NIH grant funding to determine the role of the lysosome in response and resistance to ionizing radiation. Applicants with a strong background in molecular and cell biology, protein biochemistry and/or redox chemistry will be prioritized.
