1. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
A postdoctoral position is available at the Emory University School of Medicine to join an innovative laboratory that studies the mechanism of enveloped virus entry into cells and its regulation by host factors. A new project in the lab is aimed at understanding the mechanism of HIV-1 protease activation upon virus budding from cell. Our group combines molecular/cell biology, and quantitative microscopy techniques, such as single particle tracking and super-resolution imaging, to investigate the early steps of infection – membrane fusion, transport, uncoating of viral core and late stages of infection. To gain structural insights into virus entry, we employ correlative light-cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) techniques. A candidate will work with a collaborative interdisciplinary team and an enthusiastic mentor.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Our laboratory is internationally recognized in the emerging field of exposome research and provide ample opportunities for training in cutting edge high-resolution mass spectrometry methods that explore exciting research questions at the interface of environment, multi-omics and human health. The facility currently houses three LC-HRMS (Thermo Exploris 120 Orbitraps) and two GC-HRMS (Thermo GC-Exploris and GC-Exploris240) and has plans to strengthen our technology base further. The exposome provides a new paradigm for understanding how complex exposures drive adverse health outcomes, and candidates will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of technological and data science methods for this emerging field of research.

7. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Emerging infectious diseases are a serious public health threat in resource-limited settings. In the Murray lab, we have been investigating the causes of acute febrile illness in Belize and El Salvador. One or more pathogens are identified in approximately 45% of enrolled cases; however, the majority go unexplained. We are interested in applying whole genome sequencing and other molecular tools to discover novel pathogens and role these pathogens can play in causing disease. We are also interested in further interrogating the epidemiology of emerging pathogens, the vectors and reservoirs involved in disease transmission, and risk to human health.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
8. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
This position will actively participate in research projects led by Dr. Mi-Kyung Song, Director of the Center for Nursing Excellence in Palliative Care. The current, ongoing research projects are NIH-funded studies investigating informal caregiving networks of older adults with dementia. An upcoming project will involve home dialysis patients and their family caregivers to examine the impact of dialysis at home on everyday quality of life.
