3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Physical and mental disability caused by the immune system is a common clinical occurrence in many diseases of the brain, most notably for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and MOG antibody disease (MOGAD). However, the role of immune cells in patients afflicted by these diseases is largely unknown, thereby limiting our ability to develop better and safer treatment options. As part of a highly collaborative research initiative, the successful applicant will perform a diverse range of experimental assays that rely on a strong understanding of cellular and molecular biology.

8. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Prostate cancer is immunologically cold, which means that the body’s own immune system fails to detect and eradicate the cancer cells. We have discovered that drug-induced defects in transcription elongation activate immunogenic signalling in prostate cancer cells. In particular, this can be achieved by inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) using compounds already assessed in clinical trials against other cancers. Our main aim is to develop CDK9 inhibitor-based treatment against prostate cancer that leads to durable response.

9. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The project is investigating how to secure emerging ultra-large scale digital infrastructures which are seeing convergence and connectivity at unprecedented scale. This is true for both current critical national infrastructures and emerging future systems, e.g., smart cities, intelligent transportation, high-value manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Cybersecurity of such ultra-large scale infrastructures faces unprecedented complexity. Diverse legacy and non-legacy software and hardware compose on-the-fly to deliver services to millions of users with varying requirements and unpredictable actions. This complexity is compounded by intricate supply-chains and the need to deliver resilient operations in the presence of untrusted, partially trusted or compromised elements.

12. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

In this project, you will design and employ novel forms of biophysical instrumentation (e.g. advanced optical tweezers and magnetic tweezers) to allow us to better study DNA replication and/or chromatin organization at the single-molecule level in a sufficiently high-throughput manner. You will have the flexibility to develop instrumentation using either our commercial systems or custom-built setups, based on your judgment in collaboration with the team. You will then use this instrumentation together with other group members to acquire data on DNA replication and/or chromatin organization at the single-molecule level, and analyze the resulting datasets using biophysical modelling.
