1. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Seibold Laboratory is seeking a passionate and highly-motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our cutting-edge, NIH-funded research team. Our laboratory brings together an interdisciplinary group of experts in wet lab cell biology, airway and molecular biology, alongside dry lab computational biology, bioinformatics, and statistical genetics. Our research focuses on unraveling the complex pathobiological mechanisms underlying asthma and allergic diseases. The goal of our work is to identify and characterize pathobiological subtypes (i.e. endotypes) of airway disease, and to determine the genetic, environmental, and immunological factors that drive disease development, progression, and treatment response.

2. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate preferably with prior experience in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or RNA biology. Successful candidates will be self-motivated and have skills and training to assist in performing complex research studies, experiments, assays, and data analyses. This position will also provide opportunities to develop exciting, cutting edge independent translational research projects at the intersection of lung, heart and vascular biology. We are committed to nurturing your independent career development and providing strong support for fellowship and training grants.

3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

National Jewish Health in Denver, a leading respiratory hospital, has an open Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Dr. Rafeul Alam’s laboratory in the Allergy and Immunology Division, Department of Medicine. We investigate signaling, cellular and molecular mechanisms of asthma. The research incorporates mouse models of acute and chronic asthma using genetically modified strains, mouse lung function studies, isolation of immune cells such as ILC2s and T cells from mouse organs as well as human blood and airways from asthmatic patients, functional studies of immune cells using flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, PCR, ELISA, western blot, immunoprecipitation, scRNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, mutational studies, CRISPR-Cas9 mediated gene deletion and other biochemical techniques.

4. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Numata-Nakamura lab at National Jewish Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team. Our lab is studying innate immunity of the lung, focusing on anti-viral effects of pulmonary surfactant phospholipids against respiratory viruses (e.g., Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), Influenza A, Rhinovirus and SARS-CoV-2) using primary human airway epithelial cells and immune cells. Techniques used in the lab include, human primary cell cultures maintained in air-liquid interface cultures, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, molecular biology (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR), and viral replication to make recombinant viruses. Training on specific techniques used in the laboratory will be provided. Significant experience with bacterial culture and molecular biology and/or mammalian cells is strongly preferred.

5. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Our lab has discovered and characterized a novel population of resident lung mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) in murine and human systems. Research efforts are focused on understanding how these stem cells regulate tissue homeostasis as well as remodeling at the expense of repair during chronic lung disease. Training on specific techniques used in the laboratory will be provided. General techniques utilized in the lab include: in vivo and in vitro modeling of stem cell fate and function, flow cytometry, cell culture, measuring physiology, confocal & 2-photon microscopy and molecular biology (PCR, Western blots, transfections, etc.)

6. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Seibold Laboratory is a cutting-edge, NIH funded, laboratory focused on elucidating the pathobiological basis of asthma and other complex lung and allergic diseases. Our goal is to discover pathobiological subgroups of disease (termed disease endotypes) and the genetic, environmental, and immune factors driving their development. We are accomplishing these goals through the integration of genomic endotyping studies of large patient cohorts with in vitro mechanistic studies of human organoid culture models. Ultimately, we will leverage the information gained from our research to develop precision medicine approaches for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of these diseases. The Seibold Laboratory is composed of a multi-disciplinary team of “wet lab” cell, airway, and molecular biologists integrated with “dry lab” computational biologists, bioinformaticians, and statistical geneticists.
