Summary of PhD Program:
In your PhD project entitled “Flexibility characterization for living-labs and its use for grid and balancing services” you will use data-driven methods to characterize demand-side flexibility using a set of coupled stochastics differential equations or data-driven digital twins, which leads to the Flexibility Functions for a cluster of end-users. You will also be study how the flexibility can be used for grid and balancing services, with a focus on flexibility in low voltage areas. As an important example we will study how flexibility can be used to provide dynamic transformer rating. This includes optimal use of batteries in distribution grids.

2. Fully Funded PhD Position in atomic-scale modelling of organic flow battery materials
Summary of PhD Program:
We are seeking to fill two positions for PhD projects as part of the MSCA Doctoral Network “PREDICTOR”. PREDICTOR aims to establish a rapid, high-throughput method to identify and develop materials for electrochemical energy storage. It will enable the rapid identification, synthesis and characterization of materials within a coherent development chain, replacing conventional trial-and-error developments. The project carried out at DTU will focus on atomic-scale modelling of organic flow battery materials using electronic structure methods.

Your role will be to design and develop the photochemical formation of indigo from indican to provide a procedure for efficient indigo textile dying. Satellite SAR and MSI imagery can surveil the enormous Arctic and maritime areas with advanced deep neural networks for object detection, classification and identification. Algorithms are developed to distinguish ships from icebergs and skerries and find oil spills. Advanced face recognition algorithms are developed to identify ships from space.

GreenTraC (2024-2029) will investigate the role of policy in addressing the complexity and urgency of the green transition. Summary of PhD Program:
Blood is crucial for our survival and the only way to substitute for blood loss occurring during accidents or surgery is by using blood from donors. However, blood transfusions have some limitations and risks: before blood can be transfused, there is a need for typing and matching due to the different blood groups causing fatal delays in emergency situations. Also, blood has a short storage lifetime, which makes it impossible to create large blood supplies to be used in acute disasters such as earthquakes or plane accidents. Furthermore, blood transfusions can help spreading new viral infections, like it happened with HIV in the 80s. Thus, developing a new oxygen-carrier solution for use when red blood cells are neither an option or available persists as one of the foremost important challenges in biomedicine.
