Are you a PhD holder interested in Postdoctoral Fellowships? Wistar Institute, Pennsylvania, United States is offering Postdoctoral Fellowships in various research fields. Apply today to pursue your research interests in a stimulating academic environment!
1. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Rahul Shinde. The Shinde lab focuses on investigating mechanisms of metabolic control of macrophages during cancer progression. The lab uses a combination of in vitro methodology, genomics/proteomics approaches, mouse models of tumorigenesis, and patient-derived materials to study and target pathways contributing to the disease. In addition, the Shinde lab is interested in dissecting the mechanistic link between the gut microbiome and immune responses that influence disease development.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
2. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Wistar Institute has an opening for a motivated candidate to join the Bin Tian lab as a Post-Doctoral Fellow to study the regulation of pre-mRNA processing in cancer and inflammation using molecular and cellular biology techniques and to develop related anti-cancer and anti-inflammation therapeutics. One area of research is to examine the impact of dysregulated cleavage and polyadenylation (CPA) in oncogenesis and cancer cell drug resistance. A second area of research is to develop effective CPA-based therapeutics, involving small molecules, antisense oligos or mRNA-based technologies.

3. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Wistar Institute is seeking talented and motivated scientists at the Post-Doctoral level the laboratory of Dr. David Weiner, Professor, Director of the Vaccine and Immunotherapy Center. The goal of this postdoctoral research appointment is a focus in the development of new approaches to generate protective immunity or immune therapy tools against difficult infectious agents or for treatment of pathogenic cells including immunotherapy of specific cancers. Both basic research as well as translational studies are envisioned under this postdoctoral appointment.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
4. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Postdoctoral Fellow positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Kavitha Sarma. The Sarma lab investigates mechanisms of gene regulation through RNA-containing chromatin structures called R-loops using neurodifferentiation and cancer models. Candidates with strong interest in gene regulation, chromatin architecture, epigenetic mechanisms, and non-coding RNA biology are encouraged to apply. A strong background in molecular biology is required and some experience in analysis of genomics datasets (eg. RNAseq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN) is ideal. Candidates with experience in working with human induced pluripotent stem cells and neurodifferentiation models will be given preference.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
5. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Wistar Institute has an opening for an ambitious and productive Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Chengyu Liang to investigate the signaling pathway and the molecular mechanisms underlying melanoma persistence, metastasis, and/or therapeutic resistance.
Research in Liang Lab is centered on understanding the basic principle of cellular processes to answer key questions in cancer development as well as viral infectious disease. Our lab is multi-disciplinary, highly interactive team, and postdocs are expected to conduct independent and challenging research under the PI’s close supervision and work in a highly collaborative manner.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
6. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Wistar Institute is a world leader in early-stage discovery science in the areas of cancer, immunology, and infectious disease. Wistar is committed to accelerating research advances from bench to bedside through brilliant science and distinctive approaches to collaboration among scientific investigators and academic and industry partners. 7. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Wistar Institute has an opening for a motived candidate to join the Bin Tian lab as a Post-Doctoral Fellow to study regulation of mRNA processing and metabolism in cancer using computational and bioinformatic approaches. One area of our research is to examine how dysregulation of mRNA processing steps, especially the 3′ end processing, impacts mRNA metabolism, such as subcellular localization and translation, and helps cancer cell survival and metastasis. A second area of our research is to examine therapeutic approaches that target vulnerabilities of cancer cells in mRNA processing and metabolism.
