2. Fully Funded PhD Position in Alternative Materials for Oral Devices and their in vivo Interactions
Summary of PhD Program:
In connection with our ERC Advanced grant “FREJA”, we are currently looking for our new PhD student who will be working on macroscale devices primarily aimed at enabling oral drug delivery of pharmaceutical compositions that cannot be delivered in a feasible manner using conventional dosage forms such as tablets and capsules. In the IDUN research section at DTU Health Tech, we have explored novel devices that can increase the systemic uptake of e.g. peptide drugs by facilitating an intimate contact between the active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and the intestinal epithelium.

3. Fully Funded PhD Position in in vivo Investigation of 3D Features for Gastrointestinal Retention, Friction and Mucopermeation/Tissue Penetration
Summary of PhD Program:
You will be responsible for systematically exploring the effect of 3D structuring using in vivo experiments and imaging techniques such as CT scanning and endoscopy. The project is anticipated to bring new fundamental understanding on the effect of 3D structures on gastrointestinal retention, friction, mucopermeation and tissue penetration. Initially, you will realize surfaces with different textures and geometries by e.g. 3D printing, laser cutting and casting. Later, you will be engaged in in vitro and ex vivo characterization of the performance of different 3D features.

4. Fully Funded PhD Position in Physics and Chemistry of Fuel Salts for Molten Salt Reactors
Summary of PhD Program:
In the project, the PhD student will use physics and chemistry-based modelling and simulation to specify realistic compositions of FPs and corrosion products predicted to form during MSR operation, accounting for both burnup, corrosion and possibly on-line chemical processing of the salts. At JRC Karlsruhe he/she will synthesize the fuel salts and measure their thermophysical properties in collaboration with the JRC scientists. Post-processing of these data will eventually be used to refine chemical models of the fuel salts and provide input data for multiphysics simulations of MSRs.

5. Fully Funded PhD Position in Thiophosphate Thin Films for Quantum Technology
Summary of PhD Program:
You will apply combinatorial methods to synthesize and characterize new metal thiophosphate thin films with potential applications in quantum communication. You will be supervised by Associate Prof. Andrea Crovetto (DTU Nanolab) for thin-film deposition and for characterization of compositional and structural properties. You will work closely with other PhD students and postdocs developing thin-film materials for other optoelectronic applications. You will characterize the non-linear optical properties of the most promising films – and therefore their applicability for quantum communication – under the supervision of Associate Prof. Sanshui Xiao (DTU Electro).

7. Fully Funded PhD Position in Modelling, control and stability assessment of converter-rich power plants in tomorrow’s power systems
Summary of PhD Program:
You are expected to carry out high-quality research at the intersection of renewable-energy technologies, power systems, power electronics, and control systems, both from a theoretical/analytical point of view and through experimental/laboratory work. You will develop frequency-domain and (EMT) time-domain models for converter-rich power plants, considering different grid-forming/-following/-supporting control approaches (including hybrid-control converter schemes). We are looking for an ambitious chemist with broad experience in microbial natural product chemistry and chemical ecology. The SURFCAT section at DTU Physics explores the use of catalysis and solar energy harvesting to secure renewable energy for the future. Novo Nordisk Fonden (NNF) has funded the SelSiCELL project which aims to make high performance solar cells based on selenium (c-Se) as the photoabsorber, and to make tandem solar cells based on the c-Se/c-Si architecture.
