The candidate will perform scientific research under the supervision of Dr. Karoline Briegel to study the molecular mechanisms underlying breast cancer heterogeneity, metastatic progression, and treatment resistance, with a focus on novel WNT transcriptional/epigenetic mechanisms controlling epithelial lineage plasticity and cancer stem cell formation/maintenance. The individual will take a multidisciplinary approach, including protein-protein interaction studies, next generation sequencing, stem cell assays, and spatial multiplex analysis of the tumor microenvironment, in combination with patient-derived organoid and mouse in vivo models of breast cancer.
