5. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

This position will support several of our ongoing projects related to our studies examining the role of the tumor-intrinsic NLRP3 inflammasome pathway in immunotherapy resistance. This will require experience in tissue culture work, flow cytometry, animal handling and experimentation, qrt-PCR, Western blot, as well as the execution and analysis of RNAseq/scRNAseq. The individual in this position will be expected to keep accurate lab notes, perform experimental troubleshooting, discuss ongoing work and research trajectory both in group lab meetings and in one-on-one meetings with the PI, while also keeping abreast of the literature in the areas related to each project. This individual will work under a senior research scientist and will be working in collaboration with another post-doctoral associate, a post-bac research assistant, and two laboratory technicians.

6. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Berger lab at Duke University Medical Center (https://anesthesiology.duke.edu/research/berger-lab) is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Associate with experience in proteomic anal ysis (or similar ‘omics analysis and/or statistical background), to work on our NIH R01-funded project “APOE4-dependent regulation of CSF Comple ment Pathway Activation in the Development of Alzheimer’s Disease”. This project seeks to understand how and why APOE4 increases the risk for Al zheimer’s Disease. In particular, we are interested in the effect of APO E4 allele copy number on CSF complement protein levels and pathway activ ation throughout adult human life, based on our preliminary data that de monstrated lower CSF complement levels as a function of increasing APOE4 allele number in the ADNI consortium proteomics dataset (PMID 33337362) .

8. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Surana lab is looking for an energetic and motivated Postdoctoral Associate who is interested in elucidating and better understanding causal host–microbiota–immune interactions. This physician–scientist-run laboratory innovatively integrates gnotobiotic mouse models, microbiology, immunology, and bioinformatics to tackle medically relevant questions. We recently developed a novel approach of microbe–phenotype triangulation that facilitates the identification of specific bacteria within the microbiota that are causally related to a phenotype of interest (Nature 2017). We interrogate these host–bacterial interactions from both the host (i.e., elucidating the immunological mechanism) and bacterial perspectives (i.e., identifying the necessary bacterial factors).
