This Postdoctoral Associate position will work on very-fine scale evapotranspiration modeling by combining satellite and UAV data with machine learning and AI. This individual will be responsible for processing data from Planet, Landsat and Sentinel satellites and collecting and processing UAV observations. And using these processed data to model very-fine spatial resolution evapotranspiration data using methods including machine learning, AI and two source energy balance-based evapotranspiration models.

3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science at Cornell University expects to have an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate in numerical relativity starting in September 2025. The position requires a Ph.D. and experience in numerical relativity or computational physics. The position is for one year, with subsequent renewals depending on performance and the availability of funds. The Bioinformatics Senior Research Associate will collaborate with and provide advanced complex bioinformatics research services for Cornell biology groups as part of the Biotechnology Resource Center (BRC) Bioinformatics Facility. This position will work on a DOE-funded project entitled “Amazon vs Congo: Understanding the Intercontinental Differences of Tropical Rainforests’ Responses to Climate Variability” under the supervision of Professor Ying Sun. The Division of Nutritional Sciences is seeking applicants for the position of postdoctoral research associate in Cellular and Molecular Nutrition. The candidate is expected to design and conduct research projects in collaboration with Dr. Kersten and other members of the DNS faculty in the area “Nutrition for Metabolic Health”. Research in the Kersten group is aimed at better understanding how lipid metabolism is regulated during feeding and fasting and how lipids govern specific functional outcomes and orchestrate their own metabolism in the liver, fat tissue, and immune cells. A multi-pronged approach is used that ranges from dietary intervention studies in human subjects to physiological experiments in transgenic animals and detailed mechanistic studies in vitro. Multiple projects related to fasting and lipid metabolism are available, depending on personal interest.
