2. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Community resilience has become a guiding ideal for how to address escalating impacts of hazards in coastal regions. Nevertheless, it remains challenging to achieve in practice. We hypothesize that this is due, in part, to constraints imposed by the parallel, and sometimes competing, objectives of equity and economic prosperity, particularly in the context of climate change. To address this challenge, the proposed Hub will focus on understanding the tensions among these issues.

Specifically, the Hub research goals are to: (1) Identify, explain, and quantify the interactions and tradeoffs among the coastal community goals of equity, economic prosperity, and resilience to hazards; (2) Develop methods to model long-term hurricane hazards in a way that accounts for climate change and integrates multiple hazards—wind, rain, storm surge, waves; and (3) Develop a framework to design and evaluate policy interventions that can achieve sustainable equity, economic prosperity, and coastal resilience in the context of climate change.

3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Delaware is seeking candidate for a postdoctoral researcher position in laboratories (https://sites.udel.edu/maps-lab/, https://sites.udel.edu/brainspeak/) focused on phonological learning and speech production (PIs: Drs. Sayako Earle and Ho Ming Chow). This position is 100% research with an ample opportunity to develop teaching skill.

The successful candidate will be responsible to carry out advanced neuroimaging analyses on existing fMRI data and develop new experiments using various behavioral, neuroimaging, and neuromodulation techniques (fMRI, DTI, simultaneous EEG-fMRI, tACS, fNIRS). Salary is competitive and is set by the University rules depending on level of training. Initial appointment is for one year with possible renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding. The position has a starting date of July 1, 2024.

4. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

This project explores several paths in nanomagnonics for bio-inspired computation by determining the magnon properties in lithographically defined arrays of interacting nanomagnets, where information is passed between nanomagnetic ‘neurons’ via magnon-magnon coupling acting as ‘synapses’. The project addresses critical knowledge gaps in the fundamental understanding of strongly interacting magnetic networks. The four specific aims are 1) controlling magnons in two-dimensional arrays of nanomagnets, 2) manipulating magnon-magnon interactions, and 3) understand nonlinear dynamics in magnetic nanostructures to 4) experimentally realize the next-generation of neuromorphic magnonic computing concepts.
