The Department of Toxicology & Cancer Biology is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Scholar for the lab of Dr. Ka Wing ‘Will’ Fong, Assistant Professor. Dr. Ka-wing (Will) Fong’s lab is studying transcriptional, epigenetic and metabolic regulation of prostate cancer [see our publications Fong et al., Mol Cell 2022; Fong et al., Nat Commun 2018; Fong et al., Cancer Res 2019, 2017; The lab is currently supported by NIH funding and V-Foundation grants. The putative postdoc researcher will have the opportunities to work on prostate cancer-related projects with use of cutting-edge technologies, including CUTRUN, CUTTAG, ATAC-seq, stable-isotope resolved metabolomics, advanced proteomics and bioinformatics.

This position is for a postdoctoral scholar to support an NIH-funded community-engaged research project on drinking water disinfection byproducts in the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology at the University of Kentucky. Disinfection byproducts, which are toxic chemicals formed during the chlorination of drinking water, are among the most ubiquitous contaminants of drinking water in the United States and globally. They are the primary source of Safe Drinking Water Act Maximum Contaminant Level Violations in the US.

3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The College of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at University of Kentucky is seeking motivated Postdoctoral Scholars to study novel immune targets for colon and pancreatic cancers in a collaborative team approach. We will test approaches to examine the interplay between fibroblasts, macrophages and T cells in order to examine therapeutic targets. Human primary cell culture and mouse models will be used to examine immune phenotypes and develop new drug studies. Experience with mouse work, flow cytometry, and immune cell analysis is preferable.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are currently seeking a skilled bioinformatics specialist to work full-time in a collaborative lab environment at the University of Kentucky. This position will collaborate with the Investigator, Co-Investigator, postdoctoral fellows, and students to develop, implement, and execute a variety of computational methods and tools across several contemporary multiplex technologies.

This role will focus developing analysis pipelines to assess the neurobiological basis of aging and degenerative diseases in the CNS. Preference will be given for candidates with documented experience with computational biology, probabilistic models, statistics, machine learning, and discrete mathematics; ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets, such as multi-sample single cell RNAseq, CITE-seq, ATAC-seq, and bulk RNAseq studies.
