The work will be completed at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Energy Conversion and Systems research group. This position is jointly supervised by School of Chemistry and School of Engineering. The research work will be completed as part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) of turbulent flows with applications in heat transfer, combustion, multiphase flow, and energy storage.

The research activities of the candidate will focus on the theoretical and computational analysis of lattice structures such as origami fold core sandwich structures within the theories of elasticity, elasto-plasticity and elasto-plastic damage.
