Plans, develops, and implements career and professional development training programs for Scripps Research graduate students on the California and Florida campuses and postdocs on the California campus. Builds strategic relationships with faculty, administrators, postdocs, graduate students, and external partners to assess needs, coordinate services, and arrange events. Gives presentations, advises trainees, and arranges events and programs supporting the mission of the Career and Professional Development Office (CPDO).

The Sanner lab is part of the Center for Computational Structural Biology (CCSB) at Scripps where we develop cutting edge software for modeling, analyzing, and visualizing molecular interactions which we make available to the worldwide research community. Under the AutoDock Suite umbrella of automated docking software tools we have recently developed AutoDock CrankPep (ADCP in short), a docking engine specifically designed for ab-initio docking of fully flexible peptides. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual interested in method development in automated docking and their application to biomedically relevant drug discovery efforts.

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Integrative Structural and Computational Biology Department in the Ward Lab, focusing on vaccine design against emerging viruses, including alphaviruses. the Ward Lab specializes in evaluating antibody-mediated immune responses, using cryo-electron microscopy, against human pathogens. Several contributions have been made by the Ward Lab to vaccine design against viral pathogens (Ebola, HIV, Influenza, SARS-CoV-2, Lassa) and parasitic infections (Malaria).
